Following their absence last summer Marbled Whites are back on the Hills & Holes.  Several Meadow Browns around and Ringlet numbers have definitely recovered.  A few Small Heaths were around a couple of weeks ago.

Water Vole Surveys

Every May or June for the past 8 years we have surveyed a kilometre stretch of the River Meden in Warsop for evidence of water vole activity.

So far in 2019 our butterfly records also include Comma, Peacock, Speckled Wood, Orange Tip and Small Tortoiseshell.  Orange Tips are the most frequently seen.

Appearing all over the countryside this week … and they will be one of the last finish flowering at the end of the year.
